LaTeX^3
In math mode, type x^3 (use x^{3} when the exponent has more than one character).
Usage
- x³ means x to the power of 3, i.e. x cubed: 2³ = 8.
- Volume units use ³: 5 m³ is five cubic meters, and engine sizes are quoted in cm³.
- The character ³ is a typographic superscript, fine for units and prose. In real math, prefer a proper exponent (x³ typed as x^3 in LaTeX) — the ³ character cannot carry an expression, so you cannot write x²ⁿ⁺¹ with it.
